Simple Doughnuts (Biscuit Can Recipe #4)

Top these with glaze, icing, cinnamon sugar, or any topping you’d like!

Simple Doughnuts

1 can biscuit dough (you can increase/decrease this recipe as desired)
oil for frying
any desired toppings

  1. In a small pan, heat about 1/2 an inch of oil for frying.
  2. Removing biscuits from the can, take each one and cut out a 1 inch circle from the center (unless you’d like round doughnuts for filling.
  3. When the oil is hot, add the donuts one by one, cooking only 2-3 at a time. (If you put a doughnut in the oil and it does not start bubbling, the oil is NOT hot enough. Remove the dough and wait a little while longer).
  4. Fry for 2-3 minutes on the first side, then flip and fry another 2-3 minutes. Remove from the oil and set on a wire rack or paper towels. Top them quickly and enjoy!

Doughnut topping ideas:

  1. Mix together 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon and roll the doughnuts in this mixture for cinnamon sugar doughnuts.
  2. Mix 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tbsp milk for a classic glazed doughnut.
  3. Roll in powdered sugar.
