Beef and Veggie Chinese Takeout

Takeout is incredible, but sometimes it can be expensive. This at-home version is super tasty and easier on the wallet!

Beef and Veggie Chinese Takeout

1 lb beef chunks for stir fry
1 tsp oil
1 cup stock
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 3 tsp water
Any veggies you have (I used broccoli, peppers, onion, and carrots)

  1. In a pan over medium-high heat, warm the oil until it shimmers. Add the beef and quickly sear the sides.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and add stock, sugar, soy sauce, salt, pepper, ginger, and garlic. Stir to combine.
  3. Add the veggies and cover to steam until tender (about 5 min)
  4. Stir in the cornstarch, and continue stirring until the sauce has thickened and coats the meat and veggies. Serve over rice and enjoy!
