Easy Cake Pops

Honestly cake pops (or cake balls if you, like me, don’t really like spending time putting them on sticks) are so simple and inexpensive, they’re a perfect party treat!

Easy Cake Pops

1 box cake mix (and eggs/oil/water according to package)
2/3 can of frosting
1 package almond bark (find in the baking aisle)

  • Quick Tip: Pick the frosting/almond bark flavors that go best with your cake mix. Making chocolate cake? Use chocolate frosting and almond bark. Making carrot cake? Use cream cheese frosting and vanilla almond bark. Just make sure your flavors match!
  1. Preheat oven and prepare cake mix as instructed by the box. Pour into a greased 9×13 in pan and bake as listed.
  2. AS SOON as the cake is finished, dump the cake into a large bowl and stir in about 2/3 of the can of frosting. The mixture should be very moist and should stick together easily. If it doesn’t stick together, add a little more frosting.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt almond bark, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  4. Place parchment paper or wax paper on a cookie sheet.
  5. With your hands, form cake into about 1 inch balls, coat in almond bark, and place on cookie sheet. (This will get a little messy. Embrace it).
  6. Place sheet of completed cake balls in the fridge for about 2 hours, until hardened. Serve and enjoy!
